Pediatric Hematology/Oncology is a subspecialty that diagnoses and treats disorders of the blood, as well as pediatric cancer. At TTP El Paso, pediatricians in the Hematology-Oncology division of the Department of Pediatrics evaluate and treat conditions related to abnormal number and/or function of white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets, including neutropenia, anemia, sickle cell disease, thalassemia and thrombocytopenia. They also treat bleeding disorders, including hemophilia and thrombotic disorders (blood clots). Our highly skilled pediatricians are experienced in treating several forms of pediatric cancer, including leukemia and lymphoma, kidney cancer, liver cancer, caner of the ovaries or testicles, as well as bone, soft tissue and muscle cancers. They also manage and treat tumors of all types, including retinoblastoma and neuroblastoma.
